Japanese researcher Ikeda reported that alopecia areata can be classified into four categories:

1. Hereditary type (10%): occurs early in life and over a long period. 75% of the patients develop total baldness.

2. Auto-immune dysfunction type (5%): usually occurs after the age of 40.

3. Hypertension type (4%): occurs in young people and adults. Hypertension occurs in one or both parents. Baldness occurs rapidly. Total baldness is about 39%.

4. Normal type (83%): those do not fit in I, II, II type. Occurs mainly in late childhood or in young people. The duration of the disease is usually within 3 years. The patches of baldness can recover in 6 months. 6% of cases develop total baldness.

Treatment

Alopecia areata after child birth

fu ling   10 g. Boil with water and use as tea, 2 times a day.

External application: use tincture of han lian cao  and bu gu zhi

Treated 8 patients. All healed within 2 months.

日本學者池田 氏 經長期調查研究認為斑禿可分為四型，各型的發病年齡、

臨床表現及其預防均不同。

Ⅰ型，遺傳過敏性（10%）：發病早，病程長，有75%發展為全禿。

Ⅱ型，自身免疫性（3%）：常於40歲以後發病。

Ⅲ型，高血壓前性（4%）：青年成人發病，其雙親或雙親之一為高血壓患者。

病情迅速，全禿的發生率為39%。

Ⅳ型，尋常型（83%）：不屬於Ⅰ～Ⅲ型者。發病於兒童後期或青年人，

總 病程常在3年內，單個斑禿可在6個月內長頭發。6%發生全禿。

班禿治療法

藥方名：一味茯苓飲 

主治：產後禿頭

茯 苓10ｇ. 煎湯。 日二次，加上外用補骨脂  旱蓮草酊劑，

效率﹕治療八例班禿，均在二個月內痊癒。
