藥理[1]﹕

Sex hormone like effect: adding 50% of the sea dragon infusion 0.5-1.0ml or 20% of infusion 1.0-2.0ml in 30ml Rockwell solution , can induce rats, mice and rabbits in vitro uterine excitability with enhanced contraction and frequency. 20% of the sea dragon intravenous infusion 2.0ml/kg to the rabbit, the rabbit uterus in place are excited. Compared to vasopressin, sea dragon the uterus exciting effect is weaker and longer lasting, and unlikely to cause a strong contraction, and in different sexual cycle of the uterus the stimulating effects are similar. The active ingredient that excite the uterus excited, is easily damaged by heat. Sea dragon solution of alcohol extract, water decoction of alcohol extract significantly increased the uterine weight in mice. Among them the oil solution with alcohol extract was strongest, followed by water decoction.

anti cancer effect: water decoction of hai long (sea dragon) can promote normal people peripheral lymphocyte transformation, and can inhibit human cancer cells. It is possible to observe with low power microscope the dissolving of the cancer cells after contacting the extract of hai long (sea dragon). The larger the dosage the larger was the rate of dissolving of the cells and the more obvious was the leaching out of the content of the cancer cells.

1.性激素樣作用，在30ml洛氏液中加入50%海龍浸劑0.5-1.0ml或20%浸劑1.0-2.0ml，可使大鼠、小鼠和家兔的離體子宮興奮，收縮加強，頻離加快。20%海龍浸劑2.0ml/kg給家兔靜脈注射，對在位家兔子宮有興奮作用。海龍興奮子宮的作用遠較垂體後葉素弱，作用較溫和持久，不易引起強收縮，並且對不同性周期的子宮均有相似的興奮作用。其興奮子宮的有效成分，易被加熱破壞。尖海龍的醇提油溶液，醇提水溶液和水煎液均可明顯增加小鼠子宮重量，其中以醇提油狀物作用最強，水煎液次之。
　　刁海龍、擬海龍、尖海龍、粗吻海龍和海鱰魚各自的乙醇提取物，分別以每日3g/kg劑量給小鼠灌胃，均能不同程度增加小鼠精子數和精子活率，其刁海龍中擬海龍作用顯著。上述各制劑對正常雄性小鼠性器官司和附性器官司的重量變化均無顯著影響。各制劑均能不同程度地抑制由環磷酰胺引起的小鼠精子數降低和精子活率下降，其刁海龍中擬海龍和尖海龍作用顯著；刁海龍、尖海龍和粗吻海龍還能顯著增加環磷酰胺造模小鼠的前列腺重量。
2.對免疫系統的影響。20%海龍膠以0.5ml/隻劑量給小鼠灌胃，能明顯增加小鼠胸腺重量，顯著升高小鼠白細胞民數量，對小鼠血紅蛋白含量的增加作用不明顯。擬海龍水提取物對正常人外周血淋巴細胞具有增殖作用，最佳藥物量反應集中在10-20μl/孔之間，劑量增大至40μl/孔後，刺激作用可逐漸減弱。
3.抗癌作用：海龍水提取物有促進正常人外周血淋巴細胞轉化作用，抑制人癌細胞株作用。此外在低倍顯微鏡下觀察到當癌細胞與不同劑量的海龍提取物接觸後均發現數量不等的細胞溶解現象, 劑量越大細胞溶解率越高, 細胞中的一些內含物溢出現象也越明顯。擬海龍水提物對人宮頸癌細胞株（HeLa）、ECA190、肺鱗癌、HCT8直腸癌有各度不等的抑制作用。

海龍對小鼠B型單胺氧化酶活性有一定抑制作用，也使過氧化脂質減少，但與對照組比較無顯著性差異。

Not to use during pregnancy, or in yinxu (yin deficient) with heat, or in pixu (spleen deficient) condition or during colds. Long term usage can be toxic to the kidney.
