Chinese herbs that can help produce red cells: he shou wu, e jiao, dang gui, ji xue teng, shu di huang etc. Avoid using these herbs: jin yin hua , ma huang, huang lian, borneol, la mei hua, also vitamin K, broad bean (Vicia faba) 有刺激骨髓造紅细胞的中藥﹕ 何 首 烏﹐阿 膠 ﹐當 歸 ﹐雞血藤﹐熟地黃等 Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency 葡萄糖-六-磷酸鹽去氫酵素缺乏症 (蚕豆症) 體內缺乏葡萄糖-六-磷酸鹽去氫 酵素者, 若接觸某些化學物質﹐藥物或食物，例如荼酚類物質（如樟腦丸）﹐冰片﹐或 使 用 黃 蓮﹐ 臘梅花﹐金銀花及 麻 黃, 維生素K﹐蠶豆等，紅血球的氧化還原過程就會受到干擾，紅血球變得不完整，血紅蛋白趨於不穩定，紅血球於是變得僵硬和脆弱，容易破裂而出現急性溶血性貧血﹐黃疸﹐重度血紅蛋白尿。病者有時會有惡心﹐嘔吐﹐腹痛﹐腹瀉﹐頭昏﹐頭痛﹐食慾不振﹐全身無力等症狀，嚴重時甚至有生命危險。
