platelet 血小板

A thin, round or oval particle without a nucleus, about the size of 3 nm, that is found in the bloodstream. It binds to fibrinogen at the site of a wound to begin the blood clotting process. Platelets are produced in bone marrow by cells called megakaryocytes.
