Dosage: injection liquid of 5ml (containing 50 mg) and 10ml (containing 100 mg).

Medical Function: When combined with heparin it causes heparin to lose its anti coagulation ability. It is being used to counter heparin overdose that causes bleeding and idiopathic bleeding e.g. coughing blood.

Normally every one mg of protamine sulfate applied can neutralize 100 units of heparin sodium in the body.

Uses: (1) As antidote for overdose of heparin:  Intravenous application:  quantity to match heparin used but not to exceed 50 mg each time. (2) As therapy for idiopathic bleeding: intravenous application: 5~8 mg / kg per day, into two applications. Each time to be applied with 300~500 ml of normal saline. Do not exceed three days of continuous application. Application should be slow.
