Actions & Indications:

主治﹕

hei pu huang is pu huang that has been stir fried till dark color. It is being used in stopping bleeding. Raw pu huang possesses double effects of stopping bleeding and promoting circulation.

For treatment of :

1. Angina

2. blood clot in the brain

3. high blood lipids

4. Inflammation of the intestine and difficulty in urination: pu huang 50 g, xiong huang 10 g, bing pian 3 g, fresh white part of green onion 200 g,(wash the part of green onion and boil in water for 3 minutes. Smash all herb past it to the lower abdomen while still warm.

5. Bleeding and abdomen ache due to chronic colitis: pu huang 3 g, wu ling zhi 3 g (wrap in cloth), baked ge gen 10 g, baked rou dou kou 3 g. Make into decoction and use as tea.

6. External injury of the head with swelling: use raw pu huang and apply to the injury, 3 times a day.

7. Bleeding in external injuries

8. Hemorrhoids

9. Boils

10. Inflammation of the rib cartilage (without pus)

11. Rash in babies

Chemical ingredients:

化學成份﹕

icosanoic acid, stearic acid, β-sitostterol,  vanillic acid, pyrimidine-2,4(1H, 3H)-DIONE.

二十烷酸、十八烷酸、β-谷甾醇、香草酸、嘧啶-2,4（1H,3H）-二酮。

Dosage:

用量﹕

3 to 10 g. Wrap and boil with water.

3～10克。包煎。

Cautions:

禁忌﹕

Not to use in cases of  bleeding due to blood stasis and during pregnancy. Because of raw pu huang can constrict uterus, so pregnant women should avoid using it; but it can be used in bleeding due to lack of constriction after giving birth.

The herb can be toxic to the liver.

瘀滯出血及孕婦忌服。 生蒲黄有收 縮子宫的作用，故孕婦忌服， 但可用于產後子宫收 縮 不良的出血。

本品對肝臟有毒。
