Anti viral effect: the active chemical ingredient
ofgalactofucan is significantly more active against clinical strains of
HSV-2 than HSV-1, p < 0.001.[1] Digestibility and retention coefficients
for calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, sodium and potassium were lower for
seaweed-fed rats, and showed lower values for Wakame (undaria pinnatifida)
than Nori. (Porphyra tenera)[2]
