Samples of formulae :處方舉例﹕ | chou cao mung bean soup For cooling and relieving swelling; as food supplement for those with nose and throat cancer, headache, blood in mucus from the nose, and uncomfortable dry throat. Composition: chou cao 20 g (put in last with rock sugar), rock sugar to taste, sheng di huang 40 g, lu dou 120 g, chen pi 1 piece (to taste). Add appropriate amount of water and simmer till lu dou (mung bean) is tender; then add chou cao and rock sugar. Continue to simmer until the rock sugar is completely dissolved. Editor note: Dot not use this formula in cases of pixu (spleen deficient) weak digestion, chronic pain in the lower back with shenxu (kidney deficient), especially women with this type of body function. 臭草綠荳湯 效用:清熱解毒,養胃生津,消腫散結。 來源﹕中華素食網

Toxicity & Cautions: 毒素與禁忌﹕ | The one of the active ingredients of chou cao is its evaporating oil. Do not over cook. Taking large amount can cause serious gastroenteritis, vomiting, hematochezia , convulsion, and in serious cases can result in death. Not to use during pregnancies. 揮發油為臭草有效成份之一﹐所以不要久煎以免損失其有效成份。 大量服食可引致嚴重腸胃炎、嘔吐、便血、抽搐,嚴重者並致死亡。 孕婦忌服。 |
