Toxicity & Cautions: 毒素與禁忌﹕ | According to the book, "Southern Area Toxic Vegetation", the leaves, the roots and the seeds are all toxic. The poisoning symptoms include: poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, difficulty in breathing, skin bruising, circulatory failure and oliguria, and eventually hemolysis, hematuria, and gradually respiratory suffocation and death may happen. Treatment methods include vomit inducing, gastric lavage, catharsis, and injection of saline or 5% glucose solution; prevent heme deposition in the kidney or take 5 to 15 grams of baking soda per day. If hemolysis is severe with respiratory difficulty, use oxygen, a small amount of blood transfusion and the use of CNS stimulants, and artificial respiration.
