Actions & Indications:

主治﹕

  1. wind heat type syndrome (feng re): Upper respiratory infection with red eyes and sore throat, hoarseness of voice;
  2. hives with itching;
  3. measles with inadequate eruption; (often combined with ge gen, bo he) 
  4. high fever with convulsion, tetanus; (often combined with quan xie, jiang can)
  5. inflammation of the eye with formation of corneal opacity;

 

  1.  風 熱：用於外感風熱時的聲音嘶啞,目赤咽腫﹔
     

  2. 皮膚風疹瘙痒﹔
     

  3. 透斑疹：用於麻疹未透，常配葛 根﹐薄 荷﹔
     

  4. 解痙攣：用於高熱驚厥及破傷風，常配全蠍﹐殭 蠶﹔
     

  5. 眼睛發炎﹐角膜 不透明。

Dosage:

用量﹕

3 to 9 g. For convulsion/spastic muscles: 15 to 30 g.

3～9克。解痉挛用15～30克。

Samples of formulae:

處方舉例﹕

Name of formula: er wei xiao feng san (source: jing yue quan shu) : For hives and itchiness of skin. Composition: chan yi, bo he. Boil with water. (bo he should be added during the last minute). Use as tea.

 

二味消 風散 《景岳全書》。用於治療皮膚瘙痒症﹐風疹塊。

組成﹕蟬衣﹐薄荷 (後下)。 水煎服。
 

註﹕蟬蛻多藏於泥土之中 ， 常附有泥土 ，

所 以 在 開 方 時 蟬 蛻 最 好 分 包 ， 然 後 浸 洗 乾 淨 才加入 。

Cautions:

禁忌﹕

During pregnancy, use with care. Do no use in deficient syndrome and in those without wind heat type syndrome.

孕婦慎 服。虛證及無風熱者忌用。
