Being used in epilepsy, swollen and painful throat, Bell's palsy, and itchy skin.

用于驚風抽搐 ，咽喉腫痛，淋巴結炎，面神經麻痹，皮膚瘙痒。

For decoction: 5～9 g.  For taking in powder form: 1 to 1.5 g.

xing pi san: spleen deficient children with diarrhea, chronic epilepsy. It is appropriate to combine jiang can with dang shen, bai zhu, tian ma, quan xie, herbs that help correctqixu (qi deficient), pixu (spleen deficient) and herbs for calming and stopping epilepsy.

醒脾散《古今醫統》：治小兒脾虛久瀉，慢驚搐搦者，又當與黨 參，白朮，天麻，全蠍等 改善氣虛， 脾虛，息風定驚藥配伍。

In lab animal studies, jiang can showed a strong hypnotic effect and also showed an inhibitory effect against convulsions cause by strychnine.
