shi tan san 十炭散

Name of formula: shi tan san (Literally means 10 kinds of charcoal powder)

Application: vomiting blood, nose bleeding, bleeding not during menses, and for various bleeding nonstop problems.

Composition:

da jì , xiao jì , qian cao,  zhi zi, mu dan pi,  zong lu pi, ze bai ye,  bai mao gen, da huang, he ye.

Use equal amount of the above herbs and stir fried till dark. Grind into fine powder.  Take 2 times per day after meals. 3 to 9 g each time.

It can also be use externally for nose bleeding (blow powder into nose).  Applying to cuts to stop bleeding.

方名：十炭散 《十藥神書》

功用： 涼血止血。

主治：吐血，衄血，血崩等一切出血不止諸症。

 組成：

大薊、小薊、茜草、梔子、牡 丹皮、 棕櫚皮、側 柏葉、白 茅根、大 黃 、荷葉。

各等量。共炒炭存性，研細粉。

用法：

 1． 散劑，每次3～9 克，一日2次，飯後服用。亦可用於外治，如吹鼻止衄，刀傷止血。
2．水丸劑，每次3～9 克，一日1-2次，溫開水送服。
