藥理﹕

1. the decoction and extract can expel phlegm, sooths cough

2. anti bacteria: the decoction and extract can inhibit E. coli, Shigella dysenteriae , Bacillus paratyphosus Pseudomonas aeruginosa,

3. anti virus

4. the quercetin possesses diuretic effect

1. 袪痰，鎮咳；

2. 抗菌， 煎劑及提取物有顯著的祛痰鎮咳作用；對大腸杆菌、痢疾杆菌、傷寒杆菌、副傷寒杆菌、綠膿杆菌有一定的抑制作用；

3. 抗病毒;

4. 懈皮素有利尿作用。 。

Actions & Indications:

主治﹕

chronic cough due to lung yin deficiency, cough due to exterior wind cold, cough with difficulty in expelling  phlegm, blood in sputum, cough and spitting pus and blood,  chronic bronchitis, chronic cough not healing, dark urine, difficulty in urination.

肺陰虚之慢性咳嗽，咯痰不爽，肺虛久咳，寒咳，痰涎壅塞，咳吐不爽，痰中帶血，咳吐膿血，慢性氣管炎，肺結核咳嗽，尿赤 ﹐小便不利 。  。

• 紫菀皂苷 astersaponin A, B, C, D, E, F, G,

• 紫菀皂苷水解後得紫菀次皂苷 asterprosaponin (product after hydrolyzing astersaponin,

• 再水解後得常春藤皂苷元 hederasaponin (product after hydrolyzing again),

• 紫菀酮 shionone,

• 槲皮素 quercetin,

• 無羈萜 friedelin,

• 表無羈萜醇 epifriedelinol, 

• 紫菀苷 A, B shionosides A, B,

• 紫菀五太 A, B  asterin A, B, 

• 環氯素 cyclochlorotine,

• 紫菀苷 A, B, C astin A, B, C,

• 毛葉醇 lachnophyllol,

Dosage:

Toxicity & Cautions:

毒素與禁忌﹕

Do not use zi wan with fu zi, cao wu, ju mai, lei wan, yuan zhi; and it is  incompatible with yin chen hao. Those who cough, and coughing blood due to yinxu (yin deficient) with high heat, and those who have cough with heat, do not use zi wan by itself.

惡附 子，草烏，瞿 麥，雷丸，遠志；畏茵陳。陰虛火旺之燥咳，咳血及實熱咳嗽者不宜單獨使用。
