Actions & Indications:

用途﹕

As astringent, invigorate blood flow, promotes urination and rids of edema, rids of blood stasis, regulate menses, for premenstrual abdominal pain, infertility, post partum abdominal pain with lochioschesis (discharge in post delivery).

收斂藥﹐消水行血﹐經期前腹痛﹐不孕﹐產後淤血不清﹐去瘀生新﹐調經解毒。.

益母草全草含益母草鹼, 约0.05% （花初期含微量，花期中逐漸增高），	Leonurine, about 0.05%; small amount during the early stages of blooming, then gradually increases.

Whole plant of xi ye yi mu cao contains:	细葉益母草全草:
生物鹼大約0.05%。全草中益母草鹼的含量随開花時期而變化。花初期含量甚微，7～8月中旬花中期含量为0.01～0.03%，最高可達 0.04%.	about 0.05% of alkaloid and the amount varies acording to the bloodming period; a small amount during the early stages of blooming, then gradually increases to 0.01 ~ 0.03% during July and August. The highest amount can be 0.04%.

Not to use in case of blood deficient and in cases of without blood stasis or during pregnancy. Long term usage can be toxic to the kidneys.

血虛無血淤者及孕婦忌用。大劑量長期服用可能對腎臟有毒。

Chong wei zi 茺蔚子is the seeds of the plant and is sweet and slightly cold. It is being used as the plant. It can be used to cool the liver.

茺蔚子是益母草的種子。味甘性微寒。用法與益母草同。可以用來降肝火。
