Chronic Morning Diarrhea

Name of Formula: jiang huo sheng shi tang (Nei Wai Shang Bian Huo Lun)

Diagnostics:  

For primarily pixu and secondarily shenyangxu  

Prescription:

jiang huo, du huo 6 grams each; gao ben, fang feng, zhi gan cao, chuan xiong 3 grams each; man jing zi 2 grams. Boil herbs with water. Take as tea.

Adjustment to the formula:

1. If the diagnosis is shenyangxu, the treatment should be using warming and astringent formula.

2. If the diagnosis is primarily pixu and secondarily shenyangxu, then  add the following to the formula:   bai zhi, sheng ma, ge gen, cang zhu, bai zhu, bai shao.

Adjust formula according to diagnosis.

Or the following formula can also be selected:

bu gu zhi 15 g, da zao 15 g, rou dou kou 5 g, sheng jiang 10 g.

Add 800 cc of water. Simmer till 300 cc. 

Make into 2 servings. Take in the morning and evening.

五更溏瀉

薑活勝濕湯 (內外傷辨惑論)

 薑活﹐ 獨 活 各六克﹐篙 本﹐ 防風﹐炙甘草﹐川芎 各三克﹐

蔓荊子二克。水煎服。

如主證是脾虛﹐次證是 腎陽虛﹐可加以下各味藥﹕

白芷﹐ 升 麻﹐葛 根﹐蒼朮﹐白芍

或用﹕

補骨脂方

主治﹕腎陽虛型五更溏瀉

處方﹕補骨脂﹐大棗各15克﹐ 肉 荳 蔻5克﹐生薑10克。

水煎。早晚各服一次。
