Internal use: for coughs due to heat in the lungs, menorrhagia, leukorrhea.

External use: for boils, mastitis, inflammation of lymph nodes, mumps, snake bites, injuries from impacts.

肺熱咳嗽，月經過多，白帶；外用治癰腫 瘡癤，乳腺炎，淋巴結炎，腮腺炎，燒燙傷，毒蛇咬傷，跌打損傷。

Internal use: 9 to 30 g.

External use: appropriate amount. Smash fresh flowers, leaves or branches and apply to affect areas. Flowers can be ground and mix with oil, vaseline, alcohol, vinegar or concentrated tea and apply to affected areas.

用量9～30克 ；外用適量，以鮮葉、花技爛敷患處或乾葉、花研末用油、凡士林、酒、醋或濃茶調敷。

An experimental study of the anti-HSV-II action of 500 herbal drugs.

Experimental assessments were made on the anti-HSV-II action of 500 herbs by determinations of the virus inhibition logarithm (VIL). 13 highly effective herbs (VIL greater than or equal to 4.00) were screened cut, providing a rational basis for clinical therapy. Among these effective herbs, 10 were aqueous extracts of Artemisia anomala 劉寄奴, Centella asiatica 崩 大 碗, Epimedium sagittatum .淫 羊霍, Hibiscus mutabilits L.木芙蓉, Hosta plantaginea 玉簪, Hypericum japonicum 地耳草,  Inula japonica 旋覆花, Mosla punctata 石薺薴, Rhododendron simsii 杜鵑花, and Rhus chinensis 鹽膚木, while 3 were alcohol extracts of Epimedium sagittatum, Hypericum japonicum, and Mosla punctata.
